I Cut Bags Into My Curly Hair - Here Are The Results!

Image
It's been trending all over the internet for the better part of this year - bangs for curly hair! via @mynamesdiana Our elementary school selves are cringing, but curly bangs are in and I am so here for it.  I myself have super curly hair. Shirley Temple ringlets with a few wavy strands here & there. I've straightened, dyed, and practically fried my hair doing everything to revamp my look, but bangs were always out of the question. via Naila Kamana on Pinterest  After reading articles on Refinery29, Cosmopolitan.com, and probably a million other places, I decided to give this trend a try. I stood in front the mirror for about an hour trying to sike myself up. Cutting bangs into curly hair is scary enough at a salon, but I was chancing doing it myself. I've been cutting my own hair for years after one too many mishaps at Super Cuts, but cutting bangs was a whole different ballgame.  I started off by watching every tutorial I could find on You...

Chic, Fashion-Forward Pieces That Are Still Work Appropriate

Image
I'm BACK! And just in time for some fall style insight, too. I recently started a new office job that actually has a pretty lax dress code. My inner (mostly outer) fashion girl was SCREAMING with delight!  "A great job, with health insurance, AND I can wear what I want?!".  But, with that kind of freedom, comes responsibility. You see, when they say "wear what you want", they mean as long as it's still appropriate for the office. i.e. - no mid drifts, no booty shorts, no mini skirts. So, for my own sake, and yours - I've complied the following little listicle of super chic (and super affordable), pieces for fall that will have you excited to get dressed for work in the morning. Imagine that. 1. Not Your Fathers Blazer   H&M - $129 (okay - this one isn't exactly "affordable" but it was so cute!) The key to making any outfit work for the office is a well-fitted blazer. These guys are making a BIG comeback this se...

Sneakers For The Girls Who DON'T Wear Sneakers

Image
A couple of posts ago, I talked about being a sneakerhead and listed my favorite drops of 2017 so far. I know that, like myself, there are tons of girls out there that love sneakers and are always keeping their eyes peeled for the latest, coolest releases.  But I got to thinking ... what about the girls who don't usually wear sneakers? The girls who only throw on trainers when they're going to the gym. I'm always badgering my girlfriends to ditch the boots & flats and try on some kicks, but never really thought to help them find styles they'd like and actually want to wear. So here we go, my curated list of sneakers for the non-sneakerhead girl. 10 pairs that'll surely spark some interest in all you girly girls out there! 1 - Adidas - EQT 91/16 Racing Sneaker - $120 I literally could not think of a more girly sneaker if I tried. These super cute Adidas are perfect for warmer weather & for those who typically eschew socks, even with closed toe shoes...

The Arena tote  sparked an internet frenzy of people making their own IKEA inspired pieces - made entirely out of the Frakta bag.  Scroll down to see Balenciagas tote, IKEA's response, and my favorite Frakta tote creations!
