Chic, Fashion-Forward Pieces That Are Still Work Appropriate

I'm BACK! And just in time for some fall style insight, too.

I recently started a new office job that actually has a pretty lax dress code. My inner (mostly outer) fashion girl was SCREAMING with delight! 
"A great job, with health insurance, AND I can wear what I want?!". 
But, with that kind of freedom, comes responsibility.

 You see, when they say "wear what you want", they mean as long as it's still appropriate for the office. i.e. - no mid drifts, no booty shorts, no mini skirts.

So, for my own sake, and yours - I've complied the following little listicle of super chic (and super affordable), pieces for fall that will have you excited to get dressed for work in the morning. Imagine that.




1. Not Your Fathers Blazer 

(okay - this one isn't exactly "affordable" but it was so cute!)

The key to making any outfit work for the office is a well-fitted blazer. These guys are making a BIG comeback this season, you won't want to miss out on the trend! 
Pick a style that's unique; one with a print, or one in a eye-catching hue for a pop of color!

2. Flouncy Blouse-y

Just like with blazers, picking out some blouses that go a little farther than your basic button up is a great way to add some fun to your work wardrobe. Choose styles with some flair - ruffle or bell sleeves (very "in" right now), unusual prints and patters, or in asymmetrical shapes!

3. Bright Sweaters = Better Sweaters

As the cooler fall weather (slowly) makes its way out to us, the bold and bright colors of summer get packed up and tucked into storage. Keep the tropical vibes goin' with some stand out hues and pops of color in your sweaters! Everyone loves to cozy up with a warm jumper, but leave the more plain knits to the grandpas & fisherman this year!

Ditch the tired low-rise, flair leg trousers you got for that one business class you took back in college and get yourself a pair of structured, timeless trousers. 6. Footwear With Personality  


If you’re anything like me, you can’t stand an uncomfortable shoe! With having to commute, or possibly having to stand or walk around at work all day, can really wear on your feet! It’s important to have supportive shoes. But you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort! Just reach for a pair with a lil’ somethin’ special and you’ll be set.
