Currently Loving: Gregorys Coffee!
I also had a friend whose boyfriend was a manager at Gregory's, and since I hated strongly disliked him, this furthered my resolve of never going there.
Flash forward to today. I find myself working in mid-town, literally right next door to a Gregory's Coffee shop. I, an avid and addicted Starbucks drinker, have become (extremely) bored with their coffee & their prices. My favorite drink, an iced dirty chai, costs me around $7-$8. About 2 days ago, I decided to forego my usual morning Starbucks trip to go to Gregs instead and let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
I decided to try just a regular ol' vanilla latte to start. The medium size (16oz) cost me around $5. Not bad. That's around the same price as a latte at Starbucks. The flavor though?! AMAZING! It tasted like good coffee, with a touch of vanilla. It was not burnt or too foamy, and it definitely did not taste like syrup! It was perfect. I will admit, I was hooked at first sip.
At lunch time, I decided to get another cup of coffee (I usually have 2-3 per day), but this time I went with my favorite, a dirty chai, which actually isn't really coffee at all, just tea with a shot of espresso. I ordered a large (20oz) which ran me a little under $6 (same size drink as Starbucks, not same size price). The flavor was SOOO good! Better than any Starbucks chai I've ever had! It was full of spice with a touch of sweetness and again, did not taste syrupy at all!
That was it, they had me. I downloaded the app and will probably only be getting Starbucks when I'm home in Staten Island. Unless of course, Gregory's Coffee is already planning a new location .... *hint *hint.
If you haven't already given them a try, stop in the next time you pass by one. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
Keep smiling & stay SUNNY!
Joslynn
