F'real F'real: Extroverted Introvert
We've all heard of the two different personality types, Introvert & Extrovert. An Introvert - someone who's a little shy and keeps to themselves, needs to have alone time in order to recharge, and an Extrovert - someone who's more outgoing and likes to be around people, and recharges by being social.
But have you ever heard of a combination of the two? An Extroverted Introvert is someone who can be outgoing and social, but also seriously needs time alone to recharge and reboots their minds. They can one minute be the life of the party, and the next be sitting in the corner, quietly observing the room.
Now, I'm sure you're thinking, there's no way someone can be both introverted and extroverted, it just doesn't make sense. Well, I'm here to tell you its true! You can be both! Actually, Intro and Extroversion aren't really an either/or kind of thing. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle.
I personally identify as an Extroverted Introvert and find staying out all night, bar hopping and dancing just as fun as staying home and reading a book. I find joy in going out and making new friends but also in hanging out with my very close knit group of girls. I can either talk your ear off, or not say a peep. It honestly depends on my mood, my energy levels, my environment, and a bunch of other factors. It's funny because I find that if I'm out of my element (in an unfamiliar place or with unfamiliar people), I tend to be much more quiet and reserved than when I am in a more comfortable environment. Sometimes people even think I'm standoffish, and I promise I'm not. I kinda just gotta feel you out, y'know? On the other hand, when I'm comfortable, I can become fast friends with almost anyone. It really just depends.
So next time you feel like turning all the up one minute, then the thought of being around too many people has you feeling like going home and watching some movies instead then next, don't feel weird. Maybe you're just an extroverted introvert too.
Keep smiling & stay SUNNY!
